Aaron Field is an Associate at Cannata, O’Toole, Fickes & Almazan. He represents clients in civil litigation matters including business disputes, securities cases, property disputes, administrative challenges to regulations, and defamation litigation. He also represents clients in cases involving the Litigation Privilege and California’s anti-SLAPP statute.
Before joining Cannata, O’Toole, Fickes & Almazan, Mr. Field worked as a Law Clerk for Ram, Olson, Cereghino & Kopczynski, a Summer Associate at Kerr & Wagstaffe, and a Legal Intern at the First Amendment Coalition. He helped draft amicus curiae briefs for the First Amendment Coalition, including one amicus curiae brief filed with the United States Supreme Court. He also worked on First Amendment and defamation cases before law school as a Paralegal for a constitutional attorney based in Washington, DC.
Mr. Field graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in May 2015. At Hastings, he earned CALI and Witkin awards in Advanced Copyright Seminar and a CALI award in his Liberty, Security & Technology Clinic. He was also an active member of the Moot Court Team and the Moot Court Board. He represented his school in three moot court competitions and won First Place and Second Best Brief in the 2015 Jerome Prince Memorial Evidence Competition at Brooklyn Law School.
Mr. Field was born and raised in the Bay Area. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. John’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he studied the great books of western civilization and the evolution of western philosophy and crystallized his passion for the law.
